Visit of the Delegation of the Chamber of Control in Sweden, September 1-3, 2010

On the 1st -3rd of September the delegation of the Chamber of Control led by the Chairman - Mr. Levan Bezhashvili visited the Swedish National Audit Office (SNAO). The purpose of the visit is the exchange of the experiences on organization and management of a supreme audit institution and to enhance knowledge of modern management principles.

Presentations on the topic "The management of the Supreme Audit Institution" that included aspects of the audit management of the Swedish NAO were delivered by the Auditor General Mr. Jan Landahl, Deputy Auditor General Mr. Gert Jonsson and other representatives of the SNAO.

The above visit was organized within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed on the 23rd of March 2010 by the Institutions and allowed to agree on draft activity plan that will contribute to the achievement of the goals of the ongoing sub-project. The Memorandum foresees the assistance to the CCG - to implement the relevant activities defined in accordance to its mandate and to fulfill effective role in the sphere of Georgian public administration.

Official visit of the Chairman of the CCG to the State Audit Office of Latvia, June 17-21, 2010

On the 17th of June the Chairman of the CCG, Mr. Levan Bezhashvili accompanied by the CCG colleagues paid an official visit to the State Audit Office of Latvia. During the visit the Chairman met with the President of Latvia Mr. Valdis Zatlers, the Chairman of the Saeima (Parliament) of Latvia Mr. Gundars Daudze and the Chairman of the Public Expenditure and Audit Committee Mr. Andris Berzins. The above meetings were also attended by the Ambassador of Georgia to Latvia Mr. Konstantin Korkelia and the Auditor General Ms. Inguna Sudraba.

The purpose of this visit was to support the advancement of the cooperation between the CCG and the State Audit Office of Latvia. As the result of the meeting of the two SAIs the Memorandum of Understanding has been signed which will encourage further development of the partnership relationship between the Institutions.

The Chairman of the CCG visits the Board of Audit of Japan, April 18-27, 2010

On the 18th -25th of April, 2010 upon the invitation of the President of the Board of Audit of Japan, Mr. Masaki Nishimura the CCG delegation led by the Chairman Mr. Levan Bezhashvili paid an official visit to their colleagues in Japan.

The visit gave a valuable opportunity to the representatives of the CCG to get acquainted with the work of the Japanese SAI. In particular, with the training system of the Board of Audit of Japan specifically developed for the newly recruited and existing auditors, as well as the management of the Institution. This was very important for the CCG colleagues since the creation of the training system has been identified as one the priorities of the strategic development plan of the CCG.

Visit of the General Audit of SNAO to the CCG, March 23-26, 2010

On the 23rd of March 2010 the CCG was visited by the General Auditor of the Swedish National Audit Office (SNAO), Mr. Lan Landahl. The visit resulted in the endorsement of the Memorandum of Understanding between the SAIs signed the Chairman of the CCG and the General Auditor of SNAO.

The Memorandum establishes the partnership activities between the Institutions till the end of 2010 and includes the following spheres:

• Financial audit
• Internal and External Communications
• Communication strategy
• Management
• Performance Audit

The CCG Delegation in the Spanish Court of Audit, February 7-11, 2010

On the 7th-11th of February of the current year the CCG delegation paid an official visit to the Spanish Court of Audit in Madrid. The delegation was led by the Chairman of the CCG Mr. Levan Bezhashvili and included the members of the Parliament.

Cooperation and introduction of the operational processes of the Court of Audit were very valuable for the CCG which actively works towards the adoption of international standards.

Visit of the Representatives of the CCG to Moldova, January 27-30, 2010

On the 27th of January 2010 the CCG Delegation led by the Chairman of the CCG Mr. Levan Bezhashvili, paid an official visit to the Court of Accounts of Moldova. The visit took place within the framework of the signed cooperation agreement in 2005 between the two Institutions.

The Court of accounts of Moldova has long-term cooperation relations with the Swedish NAO, the partner of the CCG that provides support to it in the reforms, standards adoption and development processes. During the visit the meeting was organised with the Head of the Financial, Budgetary and Economic Committee of the Parliament of Moldova.

Visit of the Chairman of the CCG to Corte dei Conti, Italy, January 26, 2010

On the 26th of January, upon the invitation of the President of the Corte dei Conti Mr. Tulio Lazzaro, the Chairman of the CCG Mr. Levan Bezhashvili paid an official visit to the SAI of Italy.

The visit had an introductory purpose and laid the basis for future cooperation activities between the Institutions both bilateral or within the framework of the international community.

Visit of the Deputy Chairman to the State Audit Office of Latvia, January 25-29, 2010

On the 25th of January, 2010 the Deputy Chairman of the CCG Mr. Devi Vephvadze visited the State Audit Office of Latvia. During this visit he was accompanied by the Heads of the Departments of the CCG.

Official visit of the Chairman of the CCG to USA, December 2-4, 2009

On the 2nd-4th of December the Chairman of the CCG, Mr. Levan Bezhashvili accompanied by the Deputy Chairman Mr. Devi Vephvadze attended an annual Conference of the International Financial Management Association in the USA.

During the visit the meeting between the Acting Comptroller General of the Government Accountability Office (GAO) Mr. Gene Dodaro and the representatives of the CCG was organized. The sides agreed on further cooperation between the Institutions with GAO suggesting its support to the CCG in its development.

Visit of the Auditor General of the State Audit Office of Latvia to Tbilisi, November 16, 2009

On the 16th of November 2009 a meeting between the Auditor General of the State Audit Office of Latvia, Ms Inguna Sudraba and the Chairman of the CCG Mr. Levan Bezhashvili was organized in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The purpose of this visit was the discussion of future cooperation opportunities and development of audit standards.

Visit of the CCG Delegation to Romania, September 21-24, 2009

On the 21st of September 2009 the Chairman of the CCG Mr. Levan Bezhashvili accompanied by the First Deputy Chairman Mr. Shota Tarhnishvili and colleagues from the CCG paid an official visit to the Court of Accounts of Romania. The visit was encouraged by the invitation of the President of the Court of Accounts Mr. Nicolae Vacaroiu and was aimed at further development of the cooperative relations between the Institutions.

On the 15th -18th of September 2009 the Delegation of the CCG led by the Chairman of the CCG Mr. Levan Bezhashvili paid an official visit to the Swedish NAO.

Visit of the Chairman of the CCG to the National Audit Office of Bulgaria, July, 19-24, 2009

On the 19th- 24th July 2009 the CCG Delegation led by the Chairman of the CCG Mr. Levan Bezhashvili paid an official visit to the National Audit Office of Bulgaria in Sofia. During the meeting with the President of the National Audit Office of Bulgaria Prof. Valeriy Dimitrov many vital questions related to the development of young SAIs have been discussed and further cooperation opportunities between the Institutiosn have been reviewed.
